Another tough weekend with the sheep holding their ground against the dogs.

The sheep. blue tag ewes, were initially compliant, but once they got near the first obstacle stood their ground and made the dogs work hard to move them.  Many dogs ran foul by crossing the sheep or running out of points and being rung off.

The weather for the weekend was chilly in the early morning but warming up to a bright sunny day.  It was a nice respite from the cold breezes of the last few events.

In the Novice, judged by Peter Doherty, there were 6 scores from 41 runs with all six scorers making the presentation as there was a tie for fifth place.

The Improver judged by Jenny Atherton produced 10 scores from 44 runs.

The Open, judged by Peter Gorman, produced 23 score from 61 runs.  The final was reduced to 9 runs with Grant Cooke taking first place with Grassvalley Bluey.

The Encourage was run between Trish Genoni with Binnaburra Bubbles and Jess King with Rismoor Buck.  Trish and Bubbles later went on to place =5^th in the Novice event.

Novice winner was Gordon Curtis with Binnaburra Marvin on 78 points.

Improver winer was again Gordon Curtis with Binnaburra Marvin on 82 points.  Marvin graduated to Open dog at one event.

The Open was won by Grant Cooke with Grassvalley Bluey 92-93-185 from Ivan Solomon with Perangery Maudie 86-89-175.

This event was the last chance to score points for the Supreme Dog of the year to represent Western Australia at Geelong.  Several dogs were within scoring distance for a spot so the pressure was on.

The West Australian representatives chosen were Simon Leaning with Marionvale Di, Ken Atherton with Ramulam Charlie and Grant Cooke with Grassvalley Palmer.  We wish them all great success.
