MEMO TO ROYAL SHOW JUDGES

AMENDMENTS TO ARENA TRIAL RULES FOR JUDGING AT PERTH ROYAL SHOW

Rule 8: Dogs casting before time-

No disqualification......penalty 5 points

Rule 10: Crossing-

No disqualification.......penalty 5 points

Rule 12: Stopping or walking backwards-

No disqualification.....penalty 5 points

Rule 15: Competitor leaving ring before sheep have negotiated obstacle-

No disqualification....penalty loss of obstacle points

Rule 21: Biting-

Dogs will be disqualified ONLY if they cause injury

Reminder: Rule 6 still applies-neither sheep nor dog should be abused, nor the public offended.

Rule 25: If any competitor wishes to retire, he should take the sheep to the pen on the edge of the arena-with any dog. NO forfeiture of ALL points. Score remains as at termination of trial with a further penalty of 10 points.
