Mayanup Yard Trial

Friday 23rd - Saturday 24th November

The Mayanup Yard Trial was held over the weekend of 23th and 24th of November at "Olboa", the property of Hayden and Shelby Harries near Trigwell Bridge, Boyup Brook

Thank you to Hayden and Shelby Harries for providing the venue, and the sheep.  They were mixed age merino ewes – in good healthy condition.  The ewes where easier to work around the course on the Saturday but did prove harder to work as the weekend wore on.  The ewes put up a  good challenge to the dogs, in the open final as the dogs  needed strength, push and good cover to move them into each section of the course, with most of the dogs having to back to fill the race.

The Olboa Yards trial was the deciding competition for WA Yard Dog of the Year.  Nigel Armstrong took out top honours as 2019  WA Yard dog of the Year and also breeder of the year with Yarralonga Scope on 81 points. Runner Up was Allan Dunn with GoGetta Thor on 74 points.
