Avondale Discovery Farm at Beverly was the home for the second inaugural trial this year.

This was a Three Sheep Trial held in conjunction with the Beverly Clydesdale and Vintage day which was on Sunday the 19th of June. The trial started on Thursday the 16th with the novice event, and continued into the improver the next day. open finals were run on the Sunday, and were enjoyed by a large number of spectators.

The grounds were picturesque, with old buildings, machinery and clydesdale horses creating an olde world effect.
The weather was excellent for the first two days but came in a little wet and windy for the final day and a half.

In the novice and improver the sheep were very workable, with a fair number of pens. However for the open event they did get flightier and needed more careful handling. Whereas for the the two earlier events the sheep had happily galloped over the bridge, in the open a few competitors came unstuck when their dogs could not force them over.

The novice and improver winners became a family affair with Glenice Webb and Morrillo Doff winning the novice and husband Nick winning the improver with Morrillo Cinder, a small dog with a big future.

Grant Cooke won the open in fine style with the popular Grassvalley Moss.

There was a total of 46 entries for the novice, 51 in the improver and 68 in the open.
