Wagin Woolorama Arena Trial 9-11th March

There was a very welcome cool change after at least a decade of warm weather for the Wagin Woolarama Arena Trial. Triallers were delighted to need jumpers rather than sweat their way through runs. Both dogs and sheep appeared full of energy in the cooler conditions. The sheep were fairly calm to start with but they became more runny and unpredictable as the trial progressed.

The Woolarama show had many distracting noises and activities that might have contributed to the sheeps' behavior. Sometimes marvelous work was followed by unexpected dramas leading to scores that did not reflect the initial good efforts on the part of dogs and handlers. As always the best teams made their three sheep appear to be compliant and many good scores were achieved.

High Jump

This popular event was run during the lunch break on the Friday and Saturday and was won by Scott Franz who had a Koolie X Kelpie called Smudge jumping over two metres.

Marianne Rogers with Annie and Tony Boyle with Pickles were not far behind to be equal runners up.
