Dogpro Plus Dowerin Field Days Arena 2022

Dowerin trial is always run in conjunction with the Dowerin sheep and machinery show, one of the biggest of its kind in WA.

It does make for a noisy distracting environment for trialling but most people don’t mind.

The weather was quite good  with some cold nights and a freezing wind which kept the temperature down. Recent rains created a lovely green arena and kept the dust down which can be an issue under dry conditions, due to the nearby ex-military tanks tearing up and down.

The sheep were quite good but had enough in them to make it quite challenging. They were keen to get back to the let-outs and this caused a few issues for some teams.

The sheep settled for the open event as the weather warmed up and some good scores were achieved.

In the novice there were 35 entries and 10 scores, in the Improver 29 runs and 8 scores and in the open 43 entries and 25 scores.

Gordon Curtis won the Novice with Kumbark Scotty 80 points. Grant Cooke won the Improver with Grass Valley Palmer on 89 points and then won the Open with Badgingarra Fly on 95 points and Grassvalley Bluey hot in Fly’s heels with 94 points.
