Katanning Show Ground October 21-22nd, 2022

The last Yard trial for the year was held at Katanning in conjunction with the Kataning Agricultural Show.
The weather was fine for the event. The sheep were challenging and managed to escape if pushed too hard. They proved difficult in the race for some dogs, due to their size, they blocked easily.
Marionvale Chip, handled by Simon Leaning had the goods and was able to take out the Open final. This put Chip up to first place in the Yard Dog of the Year standings overtaking his Kennel-mate Marionvale Lad who took second place in the Yard Dog of the Year.
Simon Leaning was also awarded Breeder of the Year.
Allan Dunn was the Open runner-up with Dunn’s Smallchange.
The Improver event was won by Gemma Chenik with Pilbara Daley, narrowly beating Allan Dunn with Dunn’s Smallchange.
Gemma is a newcomer to Yard trailling and Pilbara Daley is a young dog. Gemma was thrilled with Daley’s performance and is now looking forward to competiing against the Open dogs.
Ken Atherton won the novice with Ramulam Fella who put in a strong performance in both rounds outscoring the field by 76 points.
