Corrigin Show Grounds Saturday 9th September, 2023
The Perth Avon Club (formerly Great Southern) held its annual Yard Trial at the Corrigin Show.
Corrigin Show was celebrating its 100th year. Sheepdog events have been a feature at the show for quite a number of those years.
The weather held up nicely which guaranteed record crowds for the event. There were plenty of onlookers watching the dogs working the sheep during the day.
Five workers competed in the Encourage event. Newcomers included Ace Challinger with Remi, Cree Monagham with Graedawn Finn and Paris Hokin with Millie. The Encourage was won by Daniel Beard with Boonining Digit. Congratulations to all the Encourage workers.
The Novice event was won by Tanya deBijl with Ramulam Secret.
The Improver was won by Simon Leaning with Yarrabee Jack, narrowly beating Nan Lloyd with Kumbark Lexi.
The Open had a five dog run-off for the final placings and was won by Nigel Armstrong with Yarralonga Scope beating himself with Tumutvalley Roy.
