Held by the Perth Avon Working Sheepdog club at the Corrigin Agricutrual Show
Saturday 7th September 2024
Saturday turned out to be a wonderful day with the sun shining down and the Corrigin Agricultural show in full swing.
The cowd was large and plenty of people took some time out during the day to watch the sheep dogs battle it out in the yards.
The sheep, blue tag ewes were well up to the task, putting the dogs through their paces and providing a great show for the audience. Some sheep got a bit airbourne jumping over the dogs and letting themselves through the gates. All in all the dogs won most of the battles.
This year there were nine Encourage workers Fraser Gordon with Ellerslie Max and Nic Ford with Dryandra Thunderstruck having a good run.
The Novice produced nine scores. Neil Whyte with Yarralonga Digger on 86 pooints took the win from Anna Jennings with Marionvale Sonny 78 points.
The Improver class produced five scores. Peter Roberrts with Macka 69 took the win from Karyn Buller and Boonining Turbo on 66 points.
There was a five dog final for the Open class. Allan Dunn with Dunns Chopper scored 77 – 88 – 165 to take the win from Karyn Buller and Boco Louie 75 -78 – 153
